THE INSTITUTE FOR CLERGY EXCELLENCE (ICE) fosters excellence in pastoral leadership through peer group learning. Participants develop new competencies, grow in effectiveness as leaders in the community of faith, and discover new confidence and enjoyment in ministry. Participants learn in highly unusual ways, using a peer-group methodology that features:
• Self-selected, diverse peer groups of eight
• Self-directed learning over time
• Collegial support
• Observation and participation in effective, innovative settings
• Built-in accountability for behavioral change
• Involvement of laity as allies in change for the benefit of the congregation
• Spiritual formation
• Guidance by a trained facilitator
